Staff Turnover and Stability
In a three month period this year,
3 of 6 experienced Assistant District Attorneys resigned from the Cortland
County District Attorney's office. One left last year, making 4 experienced
Assistants lost in the past year in a half.
Three new Assistants have been hired
recently, and all three have limited criminal law or trial experience.
MARK SUBEN WOULD
promote stability in the District Attorney's Office by setting clear
and common sense policies, communicating them to his Assistants, and
letting them do their jobs as lawyers.
He would monitor the performance
of his Assistants to be sure they were professional and competent. He
would insist on professional and courteous communication with all defense
attorneys, judges, court and police personnel, and witnesses - to promote
efficient and fair resolution of cases.
